long life, standard incandescent size, near instant-on
I've had this exact bulb model (MaxLite HCS18WW4) in use in almost all of my lights for a few years now. I highly recommend this bulb model for these reasons:
--long life: I've only had one bulb fail in four years and that bulb was running 24/7 the entire time
--standard incandescent size: this bulb fits anywhere a standard incandescent bulb will fit
--near instant-on: unlike most fluorescent bulbs this model comes on instantly at around 75% of its total brightness and reaches full brightness in about two minutes
--color temperature: the color temperature (light color) is very close to standard incandescent light
--cost: price per bulb is reasonable
