Only 1 of 4 was correct
We ordered 2 of these lamps, the shipping speed and shipping packaging were very good. We set up and plugged in the first lamp and it worked as advertised. It is a very nice lamp.
We opened the package for the second lamp and one of the glass panels that goes in the lampshade was shattered....returned it to Amazon and asked for a replacement. Amazon sent it with one day shiping. We set up replacement #1, plugged it in, tested it, everything worked fine.....not exactly. After it was plugged in for about 5 minutes, we realized it was posessed because it started turning itself on and off rapidly. We unplugged it a couple of times, moved it to different location.....still had a life of it's own......So we returned it and asked for another replacement.
We received the same excellent replacement service for replacement #2, opened the box, inspected, and found one of the wires that hold a glass panel on the shade is broken. We have given up and have returned the lamp and asked for...

Cool lamp
I've been searching for a touch lamp to replace one I already had which broke. They are perfect bedside lamps so you don't have to find the switch in the dark. I wish there had been more style options available through Amazon offering free shipping. I would have preferred a prettier lampshade but this one works.
Arthritis Independence
I bought this for my Mother who is elderly and has arthritis that has caused her fingers to become deformed. She loves that she can just touch the base of the lamp with her knuckle to turn it on and off since it is very diffucult for her to turn the small knobs of regular lamps. The lamp has three intensity settings, with the brightest at 40 watts. She also likes the look of the lamp, she has it placed on the end table by her chair. In the near future I will buy her a lamp that can accomodate a brighter wattage so that she may read or do whatever, then she can place this lamp on her nightstand.
