With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Knock-down shade issues
The lamp has a nice look to it, and all is good except for the shade. The shade is made for shipping, not for any benefit to you. The shade consists of two round hoops and some steel sticks...you assemble the shade by putting little silicone caps on the sticks and inserting them into holes on the hoops...far from ideal. The big drawback is that when illuminated, you clearly see fork-shaped metal supports and receiving tubes and whatnot that is busy and messy looking vs a regular shade. You can see the forked prong even when it is not lit. Also, you'll notice immediately that when lit, the bulb is not positioned in the center of the shade, but right near the top, which is also weird. The bulb is protected inside a thick glass dome, as with all outdoor lamps I've encountered.
I've had several other outdoor lamps of varying types, and ones with shades constructed like this are typical of the cheap, made in China variety. Be prepared to baby the shade, don't touch it, and maybe...

Looks like an outdoor piece
The lamp is really quality and looks nice. I was trying to find something kind of "natural looking " and casual for my living room. But The shade is actually a spandex / cotton blend material that slips over a wire frame. It has elastic on the edges like a bed sheet. If it lost it's elasticity, you'd have to get a new shade. But that leads to another problem, the light bulb is enclosed in this glass globe, thing. I don't know if you could find another shade for it b/c of that weird structure. I returned it.
